Hey friends! Today I’m super excited to share one of my favorite last-minute recipes 3-ingredient flatbread! It’s soft, warm, and perfect for wraps, dips, or just eating straight from the pan. You only need flour, yogurt, and baking powder. That’s it! I love how simple and fast this is plus, it has a nice protein boost with the yogurt. Let’s get started!

👩‍🍳 Method

Mix the Dough

Start by adding the self-raising flour, thick yogurt, baking powder, and a pinch of salt into a mixing bowl. I like to use a spoon at first to combine the ingredients roughly, but as it starts coming together, it’s best to switch to your hands. At first, the mixture may seem dry and crumbly, and you might feel tempted to add more yogurt but don’t! Just keep mixing and kneading for a few minutes. The dough will gradually come together and turn into a soft, compact, and smooth ball. This step is key, so be patient and let the dough do its thing.

Roll Out the Dough

Once your dough is smooth, divide it into two equal portions. Lightly flour your surface and use a rolling pin to flatten each piece into a circle or oval shape, about 3–5 mm thick. Try to keep the thickness even all around so it cooks properly in the pan. If you don’t have a rolling pin, a glass bottle or your hands can work in a pinch just aim for a nice, thin shape.

Cook the Flatbread

Now it’s time to cook! Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat and brush it with a little oil to prevent sticking. Once the pan is hot, gently lay your rolled-out dough onto the surface. Let it cook for about 3–4 minutes on one side. You’ll know it’s ready to flip when you see bubbles forming and golden brown spots underneath. Flip it over and cook the other side for another 3–4 minutes. The flatbread should be cooked through with light browning and puffiness in spots it’ll smell amazing too!

Optional Buttery Topping

For an extra layer of flavor, I love brushing the cooked flatbreads with a melted butter mixture. Just melt a small amount of butter and mix in some chopped fresh coriander (or parsley) and a pinch of salt. While the flatbreads are still hot, brush this mixture over the top. It gives them a warm, herby, and slightly salty finish that tastes so good it really makes the flatbread feel special. This step is optional, but highly recommended!

🧰 Necessary Tools:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Rolling pin
  • Non-stick pan or skillet

Ingredients

  • 100g self-raising flour

  • 100g thick, creamy yogurt (I used 5% fat, like Fage)

  • ¼ tsp baking powder

  • Pinch of salt

  • Optional topping: melted butter, chopped coriander, extra salt

Directions

  • Mix the dough:
Add the flour, yogurt, baking powder, and salt to a bowl. Mix everything together with a spoon or your hands. At first, it might look crumbly don’t add extra yogurt! Keep mixing and it will turn into a smooth dough.
  • Roll it out:
Split the dough into 2 parts. Roll each one out until it’s about 3–5 mm thick.
  • Cook the flatbread:
Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for 3–4 minutes on each side until it gets golden spots.
  • Optional buttery top (but highly recommended!):
Melt a bit of butter, mix with chopped coriander and salt, and brush it over the hot flatbreads. It smells amazing and tastes even better!

Notes

  • Don’t add extra yogurt too soon just mix longer and it’ll come together.
  • Roll the dough evenly so it cooks properly.
  • Make sure your pan is hot before adding the dough, or the bread might stick.
  • Don’t skip flipping! Both sides need that golden goodness.
