Hi friends!
If you’ve ever wanted to eat dessert for breakfast (and who hasn’t?), then this Breakfast Berry Crumble is just the thing for you! It’s sweet, warm, and feels like a pudding… but it’s made with good-for-you ingredients you probably already have at home. Plus, it only needs 4 simple ingredients and takes just 10 minutes to make. 🙌
This has become one of my favorite quick breakfasts, especially when I want something cozy but don’t want to cook a full meal. Let’s dive in!
🧑🍳 Method:
Start with the berries:
Begin by taking out a small ramekin or any oven-safe bowl that fits inside your air fryer. Pour 1 cup of frozen mixed berries into the ramekin. I like using a mix of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, but feel free to use whatever berries you have on hand. Let the berries sit in the ramekin while you prepare the crumble topping. This quick step allows them to start defrosting just a bit, which helps them get warm and juicy while cooking. The juices from the slightly thawed berries will bubble up during baking and mix beautifully with the crumble.
Make the crumble topping:
Now, in a separate small mixing bowl, add your 40 grams of oats, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, 1 tablespoon of honey, and a small pinch of salt. Using a spoon or fork, mix everything together really well. The goal here is to create a crumbly, sticky texture. The peanut butter helps bind the oats together, and the honey adds natural sweetness that pairs perfectly with the tart berries. Don’t overmix the crumble should be slightly lumpy, not too smooth. You want those bits of texture for the best bite.
Add the topping:
Once your crumble mixture is ready, use your spoon to gently layer it on top of the berries in the ramekin. You don’t need to press it down too hard just spread it evenly over the surface so most of the fruit is covered. It’s totally fine if a few berries peek out! The crumble will firm up and turn golden once it’s cooked, creating a delicious contrast to the soft, juicy fruit underneath.
Bake it up:
Carefully place your ramekin into the air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 180°C (or 350°F) and cook it for about 6 to 8 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the top starts to turn a light golden brown and you can see some of the berry juices bubbling up along the sides. If your air fryer runs hot, check it at the 6-minute mark. Once it’s done, carefully remove it from the air fryer (it will be hot!) and let it sit for a minute to cool slightly before serving.
