🍫🍌 Chocolate Banana Cookies; Healthy, Easy and So Yummy!

Hey friends! If you love chocolate and bananas, you’re going to be so excited about this recipe. These Chocolate Banana Cookies are soft, fudgy, and made with just 3 simple ingredients. No fancy tools or skills needed just mash, mix, and bake! I love making these when I want a sweet treat that’s still healthy. They’re great for snacks, lunchboxes, or even breakfast on the go.

Method:

Mash the Bananas:

Start by peeling your two ripe bananas and placing them in a large mixing bowl or on a deep plate. Use a fork or potato masher to mash them really well. You want the bananas to turn into a smooth purée with as few lumps as possible. This mashed banana is what helps hold the cookies together and gives them natural sweetness.

Add the Almond Butter and Cacao Powder:

Next, add 80g of almond butter and 20g of cacao powder to the mashed bananas. If your almond butter is very thick, give it a little stir first to make it easier to mix. Now, using a spoon or spatula, stir all the ingredients together until everything is well combined. The batter should turn dark and look thick, smooth, and sticky just like cookie dough! Make sure there are no dry spots of cacao left in the mix.

Spoon the Batter onto a Tray:

Take a baking tray and line it with baking paper. This step helps stop the cookies from sticking and makes cleanup easier. Use a spoon or a small cookie scoop to drop little mounds of batter onto the tray. You can make 8 to 10 cookies depending on the size. Leave a little space between each one since they may spread a tiny bit while baking.

Bake the Cookies:

Now it’s time to bake! Preheat your oven to 180°C (or about 350°F). Place the tray in the middle of the oven and bake the cookies for 8 to 10 minutes. Keep an eye on them once the edges look set and the tops are no longer shiny, they’re done! They’ll still be soft when you take them out, and that’s okay.

Add Optional Chocolate Chips:

As soon as you take the cookies out of the oven and they’re still hot, you can gently press a few chocolate chips into the top of each cookie. This step is optional, but it makes the cookies look extra special and gives you little puddles of melted chocolate on top. If you prefer, you can also mix the chocolate chips into the batter before baking, or skip them completely.
